Olive Fruit Plant is Botanically known as Olea europaea from the family Oleaceae. It is medium size fruit plant best suitable for the Mediterranean climate. The olive's fruit, also called an "olive", is of major agricultural importance in the Mediterranean region as the source of olive oil, it is one of the core ingredients in the Mediterranean region. The Olive tree is evergreen and can attain the height of 5-8 meters, sometimes it can also grow as a shrub in the garden. The silvery green leaves are oblong and the trunk is typically gnarled and twisted. The fruit is a small drupe long when ripe, thinner-fleshed, and smaller in wild plants than in orchard cultivars. Olives are harvested in the green to purple stage.

Growing Tips 

  • As Olive plants like to grow in a cool and humid climate, so select the place where the temperature doesn't exceed more than 35 Degree celsius. 
  • Even if you are growing in a tropical climate you can bring it to a cool region or in shade/indoor in summer.
  • It is a slow-growing tree.
  • You can grow it in a pot or directly in the ground.
  • You can grow fruits as well as ornamental purposes also. 
  • It needs more fertile and nutritive soil for growth.

    TEMPERATURE - Between 15-35 Degree Celsius.

    MAXIMUM HEIGHT - It can reach up to 5-8 meters (if planted in the ground)

    BLOOMING TIME - Flowering starts in the spring season and sometimes in summer also.

    FRUITING TIME - It will take 5-6years to starts fruiting. 

    Fertilizer - Organic Fertilizer once in 3 months for young plants & twice in a year for mature plants.

    INITIAL CARE FOR 10-15 DAYS JUST AFTER RECEIVING YOUR PLANT 

    1. Remove the Packaging Materials carefully.
    2. Press the soil in the pot & add additional soil(garden mix) if necessary.
    3. Maintain moisture in the pot, Do not overwater it may kill your plant, so make sure that the soil should be dry between watering.
    4. Make sure that plants get enough morning direct bright light(2-3hrs) for 10-15 days & do not go for immediate transplanting (minimum 1 month)
    5. After 1 month you can transplant it into a slightly bigger pot than the present pot or directly in the ground.
    6. Just prune if any branch of the plant is get damaged in transits. New leaves will come definitely.
